Advising Resources Hub

The resources listed below are often recommended in academic advising meetings, and are open to students at the university. If you have recently received a notification that your course performance is at risk of failing, we recommend you reach out to one or more of the resources below, in addition to your academic advisor for guidance.

Kortschak Center for Learning and Creativity

The mission of the Kortschak Center for Learning and Creativity (KCLC) is to apply and engage in research and training to serve individuals with unique and varied learning needs and to empower students to reach their full academic and creative potential.

Through individual academic guidance, workshops, academic skill building groups, and the availability of a number of study spaces, the KCLC provides support to help students make successful transitions to college.

The Writing Center

The USC Writing Center’s mission is to empower students, faculty, and staff by supporting their development of writing and critical thinking skills. The Writing Center pursues its mission through individual consultations, in-class workshops, and a large roster of handouts and instructional videos. Consultants work with writers at every skill level and every stage of the process, from interpreting an assignment to producing a final draft.  All of the Writing Center’s services are free.

The USC Writing Center provides free, individualized feedback on any kind of writing to current USC students, faculty, and staff. They can help with everything from essays to cover letters to scholarship applications.

Campus Support and Intervention

The Office of Campus Support & Intervention (CSI) is where members of the Trojan community go to seek support for themselves, for others, and for the community. We are a one-stop shop for care and support, troubleshooting, and advocacy.

Students, faculty, and staff may encounter challenges that disrupt their ability to succeed and meet their goals. CSI is dedicated to helping individuals get back on track by providing options and pathways for success.

Staff in CSI connect with members of the USC community when they need support in achieving their academic, professional, or personal goals. Our consultations, available in person, via Zoom, or over the phone, allow us to understand each individual’s situation so we can offer troubleshooting, support, guidance, and connections to relevant campus and community resources.

Office of Student Accessibility Services

Office of Student Accessibility Services (OSAS) is the unit at USC responsible for ensuring equal access for students with disabilities in compliance with state and federal law. OSAS serves students with disabilities who are in undergraduate, graduate and professional programs; on-ground and on-line courses; and in all credit-granting courses and programs of study.

The OSAS team is committed to serving the USC community through: ensuring equal access, removing disability-related obstacles, and increasing education and awareness on behalf of students with disabilities.
