Academic Exploration Advising

Welcome! Academic Exploration Advising (AEA) is the central advising office for all Exploratory students (formerly Undecided and Undeclared) and Undergraduate Success Program (USP) students at USC. 

About AEA

Academic Exploration Advising guides our diverse scholarly community in exploring academic and personal development opportunities. As students engage in reflection and discovery, our team of academic advisors provide guidance and support, empowering students to set goals that address their holistic identity and enrich their undergraduate experience.

What is Exploratory

Exploratory students typically identify in these areas:

  • Exploring Many Fields of Interest 
  • Completing Pre-Application Requirements 

AEA advisors are skilled in working with students in any phase of exploration and across various academic disciplines.

Connect with an AEA Advisor

AEA offers in-person and virtual advising throughout the year for new Exploratory, declared Exploratory/Undecided/Undeclared, referred to Exploratory, and USP students.

AEA students should access Advise USC, our state of the art advising platform, to schedule advising appointments, review announcements and tasks, and communicate with their assigned advisor.
